• The intense winter weather in February brought about challenges to all of us in some way. AHUMC was fortunate to not have any flooding due to burst pipes like many of our brothers and sisters in the community and all across the state experienced. However, we did see significant damage to the gardens from the deep freeze, much like what you've likely seen in your yards and on your drives around the city and beyond.

  • God continues to bless this church family.  In-person attendance is growing-- we ran out of bulletins last Sunday!  Our livestream views continue to grow. The Palm Sunday services were beautiful.  The procession of palms and the entrance of the rugged cross brought tears to my eyes as I realized how much I have missed participating in the traditional activities of our church. On Easter Sunday, David Reed exclaimed “this is a homecoming for our church!” So true, David.

  • The Board of Stewards met for the April meeting amidst the promising news of vaccine rollouts and declining COVID-19 numbers. We praise all healthcare and other essential workers for their dedication to service. Each week, we see more worship attendance and campus activities. Online worship and spiritual events continue to be a strength to those attending.

  • This past year has been an on-going test of faith for many of us. It truly has been a wild and strange roller coaster ride, and I am sure that most of us are ready for this ride to be over! I don’t know about you, but I am longing for some sense of normalcy that doesn’t involve masks or social distancing. However, until that day arrives, we must continue to do all that we can to keep ourselves and others safe. We must continue to express our love for God by loving others.
