CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
Growing in the story of God’s love
Every Sunday at 9:30 & 11 a.m.
East Wing near the playground.
Welcome!
It is our hope that children at AHUMC will come to understand how much they are loved by our Heavenly Father, that they are part of God’s big story, and that they are an important and beloved part of our church family.
We are now offering Children's Sunday School at both the 9:30 hour & 11:00 hour.
Nursery care will also be available at both hours.
*Rooms that are used will be cleaned in between services.
Numbers will be limited, and masks are required for children ages 4 and older.
Click on one of the buttons below to make a reservation.
*We ask that you pre-screen your children for any signs of illness before bringing them to church.
KidCheck App for Check-In
To help expedite the check-in process, as well as keep it “hands free”, we encourage you to download the KidCheck app on your phone. This will allow you to check your child in on your way to church. Once you arrive just click on the “Submit Check In” button and your child’s nametag + Parent Receipt will begin to print from one of our kiosks.
Don't have an account? Scroll down for more information on KidCheck.
Our VBS is for children entering Kinder thru 5th grade in the Fall.
Have younger children?
We have a Preschool VBS program for our VBS volunteers!
Bedtime Stories
Let our staff & pastors read a bedtime story to your children!
We'll read two stories each week. Most will tie in with the Bible story for the week.
This new curriculum from Cokesbury is all about honoring the spiritual life of children. Celebrate Wonder is centered around Bible stories and encourages children to explore their faith through Wonder Questions. During the Children's Moment each week our worship leaders will use a Wonder Cube and a Wonder Box which will invite children into conversation to help deepen their connections to the Bible and to their faith.
For the month of April, our Bible stories are: Resurrection, The Great Commission, Peter and John, Believers Share.

Be a part of one of our Teaching Teams!
Would you like to be a part of one of our Teaching Teams? Our goal is to have teams of at least 6, so that leaders are able to teach as often as they want but also have the flexibility to teach once a month if that works better for your family. Please let us know if you have questions about being a part of a Teaching Team!
The AHUMC and Rio Texas Conference have partnered with Safe Gatherings to screen and train volunteers who work with the ministries who serve our children, youth, and vulnerable adults. Both the background checks and trainings are thorough and include best practices to keep our kids and vulnerable adults safe.
