2018 Financial Update

by Valerie Slade

Through your generous and sacrificial gifts, the church collected $3,313,402 towards the 2018 operating budget. You are an amazing and faithful community!

Earlier this year, the AHUMC staff was asked to curtail expenses and seek cost saving opportunities where possible. As a result, our church saved over $300,000 in expenses in 2018. Operating expenses totaled $3,268,978 for the year which left us with a surplus of $44,424. This surplus will give the church a running start in meeting operating expenses for 2019.

Thank you all for your generous support of the ministries of AHUMC.  It’s through your support that our church can make a difference in the lives of so many people.  We honor God by helping to make disciples of Christ.

Why we give

Why is giving important?

Christian generosity is rooted in an understanding that all we are and have belongs to God, the Creator (Psalm 24:1). God is the owner and we are managers. God has made it clear that faithful managers should be generous. Giving is an opportunity to worship and serve God. When we return a portion of our financial blessings to God, we create an opportunity for God to work through us and through our church.
