• The halls of AHUMC have been alive with singing, dancing and the joy of children laughing this week during our annual Summer Sounds Music Camp.  We have used the arts to explore our RISE UP! Theme. Sixty-Three students have met each morning to rotate through classes of singing, creative movement, handbells, art, Orff Instruments and drumming.   This week has reminded students and camp staff that we can do all things by the power of Christ who gives us strength, even amidst the crazy past year.

  • Mission Week Daily Summary

Day 1: Our work at the food bank was fruitful. Along with all the volunteers we sorted over 11,000 pounds of food. That comes out to about 8,900 meals!

  • On a particular Sunday in the Fall of 2008, there appeared a notice in the Church bulletin seeking interest in starting a Heart Pillow Ministry here at AHUMC.
Frances Bains wrote that notice, and soon after, ten or so enthusiastic folks met to learn about making Heart Pillows for patients recovering from cardiac surgery for Medical Center Main Methodist Hospital.

  • It has been a privilege and honor to work alongside the AHUMC community for the past 37 years. Roger and I have been loved well by this congregation. You have shaped us and our children through your encouragement and authentic interest in our lives.
