Volunteer for Project Transformation

Alamo Heights UMC has had a long-standing relationship with Project Transformation, a national nonprofit organization that helps low-income students meet their academic, physical, social-emotional, and spiritual needs. AHUMC's Asbury Campus was one of the first sites for Project Transformation in San Antonio, where our church provided reading buddies for the children and food in the evening for the interns.

Project Transformation needs volunteers, especially during the summer, when children have plenty of free time and may lack the assistance and guidance that the school environment provides.

Why volunteer with Project Transformation?

  • Make a difference in the life of a young person
  • Give back to your community
  • Learn about the challenges facing low-income students
  • Gain experience working with children
  • Have fun and make new friends
