My husband and I moved to the Alamo Heights area because we wanted to raise our children here. When we first moved to San Antonio and moved to the Alamo Heights area, we began the process of "church shopping" to find a good fit for us. AHUMC was the first church we visited, and we knew immediately it was our new church home.
When my boys were little, I would bring them to church with me in the summer so I could get some work done. One day, when I was picking them up from childcare, I told them it was time go home. Then one of them said, "but Mommy, we ARE home!" What a blessing to be a part of a church that feels like home.
My favorite thing about my role on staff is that I get to do what I love and be with the people I love every week. I love the children of this church, and I love getting to know their families. My favorite moment each week is watching families walk through the door.
My focus right now is to learn more about what the children and young families of our church need right now, and then be responsive to that.
Whether you need a quiet place to fill your tank, or an active place to make a difference in the world, AHUMC is here for you. AHUMC feels like home!
