A Launch Retreat Update
Important news for our youth! In response to increased COVID-19 cases around us and to create a safer gathering, our annual Launch Retreat in September has become LAUNCH DAY 2021. Students in grades 6 - 12 are invited to join us at Camp Capers in Waring, Texas, on Saturday, September 18 for a day of fun and sun and learning and growing.
Two years is a long time to be without the one you love, and that's how our AHUMC youth feel about their annual Launch Retreat coming up in September. We have all missed the camaraderie, relaxation, and inspiration of the weekend. And now that it's almost here, we just can't get there fast enough!
From September 18, AHUMC youth and adult volunteers will descend upon our new retreat location—Camp Capers in Waring, Texas—for a day of building relationships, exploring our faith, and just having fun. On this day, we can't help but find God among the river and the songs; this time is sacred to us and more than just a weekend away. We strengthen our bonds to each other and our belief in God and ourselves.
Launch Retreat is our catalyst for the upcoming school year—a taking off into the wilds of school and homework and sports and activities with the flame of our faith warming us, guiding us as we race into fall. Pray for these youth and adult volunteers as they make their way on this fun day!
