JOIN US IN CELEBRATING SONIA LEWIS
Our beloved custodian, receptionist, and all-around problem-solver Sonia Lewis is retiring on July 8. Sonia also served in our Wedding Ministry and took great care to ensure that the bride, groom, and families would have great memories of their very special day. We are grateful for the wonderful hospitality that she showed to all who came in the doors of AHUMC. Her kindness touched so many lives at our church.
To celebrate her 13 years of service in the AHUMC family, we are collecting letters of gratitude for the amazing ways that Sonia has helped us all. During the next few weeks, there will be a box at the reception desk where you can drop off your letter.
Sonia began working with AHUMC as a custodian in the fall of 2021 after serving for several years at the Asbury UMC campus. She has also worked as one of our receptionsists and as an usher at the Frost Bank Center. As you have probably experienced, Sonia loves meeting new people every day and getting to help any way she can.
Sonia grew up in Los Angeles and was a nurses aide at hospitals for 20+ years there. She moved to Colorado Springs before landing in San Antonio in 2003. She is a mother to daughter KaTisha and son Joshua, and a grandmother to Semaj and Zion.
Thank you, Sonia for all the light and love you have poured into the AHUMC community over the past 136 years. We are grateful for you and we will miss you!
