On behalf of the Board of Trustees, we would like to share the following good news with our congregation.
In our Charge Conference held last fall, the Board of Stewards agreed to place the Asbury property on San Pedro Ave and Audubon Drive on the market for sale.
Since then, we were pleased to accept an offer from representatives of a different denominational congregation, who envision re-consecrating the facilities as a house of worship. So, as of earlier this month, the Asbury property has officially sold.
The net proceeds from this sale will support the continuation of our ministry and outreach efforts in the area. Pastors Robert and Janet—both of whom have strong ties to the Asbury community—are planning for new missional opportunities, engaging our church members in supporting the mind, body, and hearts of individuals and families in the San Pedro corridor neighborhood.
We want to thank our brokerage and legal representatives, along with church staff, who worked diligently to bring this sale to fruition. Thanks be to God for a successful conclusion to this effort—and a new beginning in ministry together.
