The Rio Texas Annual Conference took place in Corpus Christi from June 17-20.
Annual Conference is a time when pastors and lay delegates come together to hear, review, and approve reports about the mission activities conducted by the churches and organizations of our conference. The appointment of our AHUMC pastors were made official during this conference. The Thursday Evening Service of Remembrance honors those pastors and pastor’s spouses who went to their heavenly assignment during the year.
On Friday evening, the service of ordination was held. Our former AHUMC pastor Ryan Jacobson was ordained as an Elder! Ryan now serves at Leander United Methodist Church. We join Leander UMC and the Jacobson family in celebration for Ryan's ordination!
AHUMC would like to thank our lay delegates who gave their time to represent our church and our district. The lay delegates from AHUMC were Tony Labasso, Chip and Valerie Slade, and Nicholas Weatherston. Central District lay delegates also included Jason and Larina Alteri, Hugh and Dianne Dorsett, and Kitty Meyers.
