A Letter From the New AHUMC Youth Director

Dear AHUMC,

My name is Emma Garza, and I am so excited to call AHUMC my home! I am incredibly grateful for the wonderful opportunity that God has provided, and I am thrilled to step into the role of AHUMC Youth Director.

A little bit about me: I was born and raised here in San Antonio, I attended Abilene Christian University where I earned a degree in Biblical Studies with a concentration of Youth Ministry and a minor in Adolescent Psychology. God has been incredibly faithful and brought me back to this city that I love so dearly!

For six years I have worked in various churches, serving in Youth Ministry and teaching students about Jesus. I have grown tremendously in every experience God has given me, and I cherish every church and student I have encountered. I served as the Associate Youth Director here for a year, and I have loved every second.

Being at this church has truly been a dream come true!  I have a big heart and passion for showing adolescents the love of Christ and creating an environment in which every teen feels loved, cherished, and valued. This community is incredibly special. With your help, I know we can make AHUMC Youth a Christ-centered place of fun and belonging.

I am truly honored to serve alongside you! I am eager to get to know each and every one of you, and I would be delighted to call you friend!

Sincerely,

Emma Garza
