A Letter from Pastor Jason

October 27, 2022

Dear AHUMC Family,

I strongly encourage everyone to attend a townhall meeting in our Sanctuary on Thursday, November 10 at 6:30 p.m. Childcare will be provided. We are calling this event “A Conversation with Kendall." Rev. Kendall Waller, the treasurer and administrator of the Rio Texas Annual Conference, will be speaking with us about the issues and potential schism facing the United Methodist Church and how those issues could impact AHUMC.

This is a challenging time in our church, but I believe God is at work in our midst helping us to grow stronger in our faith. Although we may not all see ”eye to eye” on the issues before us, this is an opportunity to recommit ourselves to the care of Jesus Christ and develop a deeper love for our sisters and brothers in Christ.

This is a critical time to get involved, be present, and contribute as we learn and discuss all that is before us. If you are unable to join us in person, please watch online via Facebook or YouTube

Let us all remember the Apostle Paul’s words of Colossians 3:12-15:

“As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another, and, if anyone has complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”

I invite you to learn more about this important event and find additional resources by visiting ahumc.org/conversation. I look forward to seeing you on November 10.

God bless,

REV. JASON ADAMS

Senior Pastor
