Many thanks to all those who helped make our 3rd Annual School Supplies Drive such an overwhelming success!
Thanks to our wonderful custodians who repeatedly answered calls to open doors, lock doors, move tables, and carry heavy boxes to cars. Thanks to our faithful Lunch Bunch folks who figured out a way to do curbside collecting, and then manned the collection times. Thanks to the church staff who handled facility considerations, and who helped the buying team access donation money. And many thanks to our wonderful Congregation who, as always, supported this School Supplies Drive with interest, supplies themselves, and an unbelievable amount in monetary donations!
We received lots of school supply sets as we've done in the past, along with stacks of notebook paper, spirals, crayons, markers, and masks! Then, by the end, we learned we had $820 in donation money to spend! Folks, that's lots of school supplies! We were able to visit eleven schools (including all the Alamo Heights Schools) offering to many of them exactly what they needed for their students who have no supplies! On Thursday, August 27, a group of ten Lunch Bunch men and women met at the church. We boxed everything up, and delivered it all to some very appreciative school counselors and family specialists.
