We have recently been made aware that some of our congregants have received text messages or e-mails from a contact making their credentials appear as if they are Senior Pastor Jason Adams or other AHUMC Staff.
THIS IS A PHISHING SCAM!
With these kinds of messages, a scammer or pre-programmed bot will randomly reach out and attempt to start a conversation, which they hope will eventually lead to a form of payment or acquire sensitive information.
No AHUMC staff member will ever randomly reach out to a congregant via phone, text, or e-mail with a request for money or sensitive information.
Please disregard these messages and report them as junk/spam.
