We are happy to announce that a new ministry is beginning at AHUMC called Mission Central. Mission Central continues in the spirit of the ministries activated at Asbury Church in 2012 along the San Pedro corridor. When the Asbury Church building was sold in 2021, the hope was always to continue and expand those ministries through the AHUMC campus and beyond. Mission Central is the answer to that hope.
Led by Mission & Outreach Pastor Janet Weatherston, Mission Central has grown from an idea to a physical location in AHUMC's West Wing, with the ambition of this ministry being continued growth and expansion, allowing service to those in need within our community. For now, Mission Central is housed in W102.
To start Mission Central off on the right path, we are beginning a prayer initiative to discern how to join God in helping our neighbors this coming season. We invite anyone interested in joining us for an hour of prayer to come each Wednesday evening this summer from 5 to 6 p.m. in room W102. You can also join the prayer sessions remotely through Zoom (contact Pastor Janet for the meeting link).
We want to unite and build this missional community through worshipful prayer and listening. Join us and bring your heart, hopes, and dreams to our prayer time.
