It is with mixed emotions that I tell you about the next chapter that God is calling me to. I have accepted a leadership position at Morningside Ministries here in San Antonio. My family and I are excited about this new opportunity, but I am sad to be leaving our church staff. This church staff has taught me a great deal about teamwork, trust, and the love of God, and it will leave me forever changed. I am excited for what God will continue to do in and through our church moving forward.
I am grateful to you for your love and support along the way. Know that I will always carry the imprint of your love and care. I want to thank Alamo Heights UMC for all you have meant to my family and me. My family joined the church in 1974 and have been active ever since. The congregation has always been family to me. You baptized me, confirmed me, raised me in the faith, helped me discern a call to ministry, and brought me on staff to serve as pastor. Our congregation deepened my faith and taught me about community, love, service, and discipleship. Our church has been a steadfast rock of love and community my entire life. I am forever grateful for all you have taught me about the love of God and what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
I hope you will join us Sunday, October 24, where we will celebrate with a joint goodbye worship service in the Sanctuary. Thank you for all your love and support through the years!
