It is with a grateful heart (and some reluctance) that I have decided to retire from AHUMC Weekday School at the end of this school year. After 35 years of enjoying these precious children, it is with some regret, mixed emotions yet anticipation, that I am choosing to leave this sweet school. I do look forward to enjoying time traveling, volunteering and just “being!”
I have sincerely appreciated the association I have had with each of you over the years. I have been richly blessed in serving families like yours, and I am grateful for the many friendships that developed through the years.
I have great confidence that this school will continue to be a special place. Jan will continue to be in the office, and the teachers will continue to love and nurture the children. The church will have a search committee to organize finding a new director who I’m sure will bring new ideas and excitement to the school.
I have loved my job, my co-workers and the families I have been blessed to serve. I found these quotes which I think express my feelings perfectly:
“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” - A.A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh
“Often when you think you’re at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else.” — Fred Rogers
I know this will certainly be a big change for me, but I’m excited for the future – both for the school and me! May God continue to bless this school and all who are involved in it.
With a thankful heart and much love,
Jane Mowrey
Congratulate and thank Jane when you see her around church. We will be celebrating Jane's time with us together as a church in the coming weeks.
