We are searching for smiling faces with warm voices to brighten up our Atrium on weekdays and become new members of our Front Desk Team.
A Front Desk Team volunteer takes a weekly shift at our reception desk in the Atrium to answer phones and greet and help guide guests. Occasionally, and as your comfort level allows, there may be other administrative tasks like stuffing envelopes, entering data into our membership system, or assist with other ministry-related functions that can be worked on from the desk. This role often has downtime between handling calls and Atrium traffic, allowing volunteers to catch up on reading or other personal tasks!
Whether you are new and want to get to know the business and happenings of the church, or have been part of our church family for a while and are looking for a way to reconnect, this role is great for you because you can ease into the routine and get to know our staff and other volunteers.
Volunteers receive training on how to use our membership system and calendar, as well as our phone system.
We have two shifts daily that coincide with the church’s business hours: 9 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. - 4 p.m.
The great thing about this volunteer role is that it is flexible and scalable. If you have two hours to give, we can slot you in. If you would like to work more than one shift, we will happily make that adjustment. If you prefer to limit your role to being at the desk, answering phones/directing guests, and feel other administrative functions do not suit your gifts and talents, we can and will gladly work with your pace and abilities.
