Family Faith Time with the Youth Ministry

“I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you.”

2 Timothy 1:5 NLT

The verse from 2 Timothy was written over two thousand years ago and it still holds so much truth. Faith is passed on from one generation to the next, as well as the lack of faith. Passing on our faith is more than making sure our children are in church on most Sundays. Did you know that there is research about passing on the faith? And several authors have written books and supplemental studies on the topic.

Passing on faith or handing it down is something we hold dear to our hearts here at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church. Did you know that the two biggest determining factors in passing our faith to our children are authenticity and intentionality? We want to walk with your family as you try to do this. “Family Faith Time” will be a new segment in our Youth Newsletter. Each month we will post a new short, easy to do daily activity for your family to practice your faith together. Practicing an activity daily helps us create new long-term habits; faith habits that our children will hopefully carry into adulthood.

November's Activity

List and pray for grandparents or older adults in the lives of the family.

"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.

Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”

Philippians 4:6
