A Letter From Senior Pastor Jason Adams

Dear Friends,

Life is a journey. We are blessed to know a loving and present God as we walk this path together. I am honored to join you on this journey at Alamo Heights United Methodist Church. Your ongoing gifts and service have created many milestones worth recognizing as the year comes to an end:

 We celebrated 29 baptisms.

 We welcomed 65 new members.

Our average in-person worship attendance increased to 523.

Our average online weekly worship attendance increased to 1,027.

AHUMC Youth and Confirmation participation increased by 60%.

AHUMC Music welcomed over 230 weekly participants in choral and music groups.

"Remember the ways that I have loved you, and demonstrate your love for others in the same ways. Everyone will know you as my followers if you demonstrate your love to others."

John 13:34-35

As John’s Gospel reminds us, followers of Jesus are recognized by the love that they share in service to others. Here are just a few of the ways you have shared Christ’s love this year:

6 different 12-Step recovery programs welcomed over 200 people in 15 weekly meetings.

7 different support groups welcomed and cared for hundreds of people each month.

24 different community groups utilized our campus.

43 large community events were hosted on our campus.

70 AHUMC Kids volunteers welcomed over 800 guests to our annual Harvest Festival.

146 blessing bags189 flood buckets, and over 4,000 cans of food were distributed.

885 Heart Pillows were crafted and donated to hospitals.

266 volunteers helped our Pumpkin Patch raise $16,750 to further fund outreach.

44 students from the families in our community are enrolled in Arts for All.

In addition to the highlights listed above, members gathered at a November church conference to unanimously approve the Grow Together* campaign toward enhancing our campus as a Christian community of love, hope, and belonging for all.

Again, I give thanks and am blessed to be on this journey of faith with you. I am grateful for your faithful service and giving. I know, with your continued help, we will finish the year meeting all of our financial goals.

Merry Christmas,

REV. JASON ADAMS

Senior Pastor
