Congratulations to our member Dr. Caroline Wernli! She is the namesake of a new elementary school in the Northside Independent School District. Dr. Caroline Wernli Elementary opened for the 2020-2021 school year and the official dedication (which was postponed from October due to Covid) is Thursday, March 18.
Dr. Wernli built quite a legacy in NISD, serving as a counselor and then as the Director for Elementary Personnel and Director of Human Resources for Secondary Personnel. She then went on to serve as Director of Field Experience at the University of Incarnate Word, helping to train and place future teachers. Caroline also was the developer and a leader in the Northside School Museum Association, helping collect, preserve, and share the history of Northside ISD.
As a member of AHUMC, Caroline has been active in the Seekers Class, serving as an usher, volunteering in the Pumpkin Patch, serving on the Mission and Outreach Committee, and helping to organize and maintain the Alternative Christmas Market.
Thank you, Dr. Wernli, for your dedication and service to your community and this church!
