Each month during Communion, we collect a Communion Love Offering across all worship services. October 5 is also World Communion Sunday.
As we join with others gathered around the table on World Communion Sunday, we celebrate and recognize our unity in Christ and embrace our commitment to support and nurturing those in need. United Methodists are dedicated to encouraging leadership within the church by allocating funds for scholarships and leadership training for under-represented students. The recipient of the October 2025 Communion Love Offering is:
Africa University
Around the globe, countless gifted and qualified people face financial obstacles that hinder them from preparing for the vocation God has given them, especially youth and young adults. For ethnic students who will be the first generation in their families to attend college, or for those people of color who haven’t historically had access to resources that make higher education possible, the road toward education has often been unwieldy.
Africa University has a strong reputation that is based on the relevance and impact of its efforts. Teaching at Africa University emphasizes the practical application of knowledge to alleviate poverty, build peace and stability and drive development.
