As our children and teachers prepare for a new school year, we want to let them know that we support them and will be praying for them. Last year, in the middle of our Covid quarantine, we held a drive-thru Blessing of the Backpacks. Families could drive up to the church and remain in their cars as our pastors and staff greeted them and prayed over them. We also handed out backpack tags to remind them that our church loves them and supports them.
This year, we look forward to a Blessing of the Backpacks during our 11 a.m. worship services on August 15. Children and educators are encouraged to bring their backpacks, book bags, or just themselves, so we can pray over them as they begin a new school year.
