The City of San Antonio has notified AHUMC that Basse Road will be getting a new asphalt coating. The project will start on Monday, May 30, and is expected to last 2-3 weeks.
While this will be a greatly appreciated improvement once completed, the project's duration will provide some slight difficulties when traveling to AHUMC, specifically for those used to utilizing Basse Road.
There will be times when one or both driveways off of Basse Road are inaccessible. The City might also redirect traffic from Peter Baque Road and Treeline Park.
Electronic signs have already been placed on Basse Road to alert the community of the upcoming project.
The project is part of a federally funded initiative that will ensure that the sidewalk at the corner of Basse Road and Treeline Park will be updated to align with ADA standards.
While construction begins and the temporary changes are implemented, we'd like to move forward with patience and remember that this work will ultimately provide an improvement to an area adjacent to AHUMC.
