Greetings in Jesus name,
I want to start by thanking you for the opportunity to serve alongside you these past three years at Asbury UMC and here at AHUMC. It has been a blessing to my family and I to see how God has been moving in us and through us to serve our community and each other. While it has been challenging to serve these past two years because of Covid, I have seen how we as a church have been able to adapt and come up with new ways to make and impact in the lives of those we serve. I have no doubt that God will continue to use this church for the transformation of the world.
After much thought and prayer, I have asked our District Superintended, Greg Hackett, for a temporary discontinuance in ministry for this upcoming year. My family and I have decided that we will be moving at the end of May to Colorado to focus on our health and family. Our last day will be May 29th and we hope to be back soon stronger in Christ but are open to where God leads us
.
Thank you once again for allowing my family to serve alongside you these past three years. You have shown us the love and grace that resembles Christ and we have truly felt at home here at Alamo Heights. We will miss you all and will keep you in our prayers.
Forever in Christ,
Rev. Luis A. Perez
