A Special Message from Pastor Holly

Dear Friends in Christ,

This morning I shared with the Board of Stewards that I will be appointed Senior Pastor of Tarrytown United Methodist Church in Austin, beginning July 1st. United Methodist pastors are part of an itinerant appointment system, sent to our churches one year at a time. A move can be initiated by a pastor, a local church, or the Bishop. After much discernment and prayer, I initiated this change based upon the needs of my family. Trip’s long commute to Austin for work and our desire to live closer to our son and his family were important factors.

This decision was very hard for us. I can’t begin to express how much I appreciate all of you and the love and support you’ve shown me and Trip during our time at AHUMC. Alamo Heights is such a special church, and it has been our privilege to serve alongside you.

The Bishop and District Superintendent will be working with the Board regarding the appointment of the next Senior Pastor of AHUMC. I am confident that you are in good hands, and the person who follows me will bring great leadership and love to the congregation and community. There are wonderful years of ministry ahead for AHUMC.

I will be in prayer for all of you in the coming weeks and covet your prayers as Trip and I make the transition to Austin. Our last Sunday at AHUMC will be May 29th.

In Christ’s love,

Rev. Holly H. Gotelli

Senior Pastor
