Children Ministry Elementary

Our curriculum, The Gospel Project, takes kids on a chronological journey - from Genesis to Revelation - to encounter Jesus.  With this curriculum, we'll show kids that each book of the Bible, both Old Testament and New Testament, is part of one overarching gospel narrative.  From cover to cover, it's all about Jesus.  This Fall we'll start with Genesis 1 and work our way through Proverbs by the end of the school year.  It will take us 3 years to get to Revelation, but we'll get there - one book at a time!

Each week, children are encouraged to respond to God through Worship Response Stations.  Worship Response Stations give kids the opportunity to worship God corporately and individually. In addition to stimulating godly worship and praise, response stations also spiritually affirm who the kids are in Christ, further developing their awareness that they too are a part of The Big God Story.

Families are equipped with Big Picture Cards that briefly explain what we will be teaching each unit. Our hope is that families will find a little time to talk about the Bible story and scripture for the upcoming Sunday.  Each Big Picture Card will have the scripture, Bible story, Christ Connection, and questions for families to ask their kids to help them engage in spiritual discussions.

Rock Solid Faith

Because most children's spiritual beliefs are in place by 13, these elementary years are a critical time to show kids God's truth. All our curriculum is designed to lead students to a strong foundation of faith and is based on key Bible passages that help students discover what the Bible really says about who God is.  It is our goal to team up with parents to give our kids R.O.C.K. S.O.L.I.D. faith.

How You Can Be Involved

Would you like to be a part of one of our Teaching Teams?  It's not too late! Our goal is to have teams of at least 6, so that leaders are able to teach as often as they want but also have the flexibility to teach once a month if that works better for your family. Please let me know if you have questions about being a part of a Teaching Team!  Please contact Gina Beal, Director of Children's Ministries at gbeal@ahumc.org or 826-3215 ext. 118.
