Sunday Sounds at Alamo Heights UMC is a graded music experience for all children in kinder-5th grade. One does not have to be a member of AHUMC to participate. We meet weekly during the school year. Our time together offers a variety of experiences and expressions in music. We believe in encouraging children to play, move, use instruments, sing and create through music exploration. The central component in our time is that of growing a community of faith among the children. Music is something to share and experience together so what better place for us to join together then with our faith community surrounded by adults and youth that are here just for your children.

Do you want a place where your children can grow in their faith, learn about worship, make lasting friendship, use their imaginations, make and explore music and be surrounded by adults and youth that want to encourage your children in their faith? We believe in developing a child's spiritual, emotional and social health through music and worship education. Our time together is geared toward Growing in Faith, Service and Friends through Music. Come and discover the power of music in planting the seeds of our faith.

We hope your child will join us this year.

Psaltery Choir

One of the goals of the Psaltery Choir is to begin developing an awareness of the child's contribution and service to the church through music.  The children learn some of the traditional music responses sung in worship as well as anthems and hymns. Amanda Morris, the director for the Psaltery Choir, is the music teacher at Bulverde Creek Elementary in NEISD.

Joyful Sound

Joyful Sound director, Nona Schwab, is the Associate Dir. of Music and Worship at AHUMC.
